Scarlet Tanager.

Certain tanagers are seen in Cuba during the migration periods. These are the Scarlet Tanager, Summer Tanager and the Western Tanage. Interestingly enough, seeing the male species in the spring shows off their brilliant yellow and red colours and then seeing the same male species in the fall, one sees these them in a dull green and spotty yellow colour.

The male tanagers are some of the most colourful and beautiful birds seen in Cuba. They can be seen in their bright red, yellow and orange plumage. Similar to other bird species, the females are very different and their plumage colours are dull greens and yellows.
